Job summary

Robson Forensic, Inc. is seeking a P.E.-licensed civil engineer with 15+ years of hands-on land development and site/civil construction project management to join our forensic expert team in a hybrid role across several U.S. locations.

You will investigate incidents, analyze procedures against standards, draft clear reports, and provide expert testimony. Travel is approximately 20% with opportunities to grow technically and professionally.

Civil Engineer – Land Development Forensic Expert Position

Overview

We are seeking a P.E. licensed civil engineer with 15+ years of hands‑on experience in land development and/or site/civil/heavy construction project management. The candidate will have extensive knowledge of safety requirements and construction site issues. You will bring your expertise and receive training to become a forensic expert.

Responsibilities
  • Investigate civil engineering land development incidents.
  • Analyze procedures applying comprehensive knowledge of standards and practices.
  • Write clear, scientifically sound reports.
  • Provide expert testimony.

Location

Miami Lakes/Palm Beach Gardens, FL; Atlanta, GA; Columbus/Dublin, OH; Lancaster, PA (hybrid).

Requirements
  • Active P.E. license.
  • B.S. in Civil Engineering from an ABET‑accredited institution.
  • 15+ years of hands‑on experience in land development and/or extensive site/civil/heavy construction project management; knowledge of safety requirements and issues on construction sites; design experience and a thorough working knowledge of contracts, safety, construction means & methods, scheduling, estimating, subcontractor management, and quality control.
  • Preferred: Experience in community or residential land development; experience in commercial land development, commercial construction, single‑family home construction, commercial recreational construction, and/or heavy construction.
  • Excellent technical and analytical skills; strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to safely climb/navigate ladders, roofs, scaffolding, etc. for inspection activities.
  • Approximately 20% travel for inspections; remaining time focused on analysis and report drafting, working independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Prior forensic experience is not required.

You must have a clean background screen, a driver’s license, and the ability to drive.
