Job summary

Mainframe Solutions is seeking a Civil Engineer (Land Development) in Doylestown, PA to design private subdivision and land development projects across residential, retail, commercial, industrial and institutional sectors in southeastern Pennsylvania.

You will work independently on smaller projects and support Senior Designers and Project Managers on larger ones, coordinating with teams on site plans, grading, utilities and stormwater management.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of progressive experience in private subdivision and land development design
• Experience preparing site plans, grading plans, utility plans or roadway plans
• Understanding of stormwater management and erosion/sediment control design
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D

Responsibilities

• Prepare sketch plans, site plans, grading plans, utility plans and roadway plans
• Support layout and design development through project lifecycle and assist with subdivision/land development plan packages
• Prepare technical drawings, reports and submission packages
• Review zoning ordinances, stormwater and land development regulations affecting design
• Support stormwater design, calculations and erosion control work
• Meet with Project Managers to coordinate goals, schedules and requirements

Position Overview

Mainframe Solutions is recruiting a Civil Engineer (Land Development) for an established civil engineering firm in Doylestown, PA. The role designs private subdivision and land development projects across residential, retail, commercial, industrial and institutional sectors in southeastern Pennsylvania. You will work independently on smaller projects and support Senior Designers and Project Managers on larger ones.

Location:

Doylestown, PA (office based, flexible work model)

Salary: $70,000 to $90,000 per year, commensurate with experience

Experience: approximately 2 to 3 years (flexible for strong candidates outside this range)

Work Authorization: no visa sponsorship. Candidates must already be authorized to work in the US without employer sponsorship.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare sketch plans, site plans, grading plans, utility plans, roadway plans and utility profile plans


• Support layout and design development through the project lifecycle, and assist with subdivision and land development plan packages


• Prepare technical drawings, reports and submissions; support documentation and submission packages


• Review zoning ordinances, subdivision and land development regulations, stormwater management requirements and other municipal and agency requirements that affect the design


• Support stormwater management design, stormwater calculations, and erosion and sediment control design


• Meet regularly with Project Managers, coordinate goals, schedules and technical requirements, and give regular updates on assigned tasks

Required

• About 2 to 3 years of progressive experience in private subdivision and land development design, with hands on civil engineering design


• Experience preparing site plans, grading plans, utility plans or roadway plans


• Fundamental understanding of stormwater management and of erosion and sediment control design


• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D


• Strong time management, written and verbal communication skills; ability to work with Project Managers and Senior Designers

Strong Plus

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or a related field


• Engineer in Training (EIT) designation


• Experience with southeastern Pennsylvania land development projects, subdivision and land development submissions, zoning and municipal ordinance review, and regulatory agency requirements


• Experience supporting projects from concept through permitting and approval


• Working knowledge of Hydroflow, Microsoft Word and Excel
