Job summary

BKF, a multi-service infrastructure firm, seeks an experienced Civil Engineer to lead land development projects across residential, commercial, and public works. You will guide design, manage budgets and schedules, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with clients and agencies to deliver high-quality solutions on time.

You will oversee grading, drainage, utilities, and roadway improvements, and ensure compliance with standards while fostering client relationships and project success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program or equivalent.
• PE license required (California PE preferred).
• 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in land development engineering.
• Strong experience in site development design, including grading, drainage, utility infrastructure, and roadway improvements.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D required.
• Demonstrated project management experience, including budgeting, scheduling, and client coordination.
• Strong technical, communication, and leadership skills.
• Experience mentoring junior staff and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership, QA/QC review, and mentorship to engineering and design staff.
• Support entitlement, permitting, and construction-phase services as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of applicable Federal, State, County, and local design standards and regulations.

We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer with a strong background in Land Development to lead project delivery, provide technical leadership, and support team development. In this role, you will manage projects of varying size and complexity, collaborate closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams, mentor junior staff, and ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget. You will play a critical role in solving complex engineering challenges, driving project success, and contributing to the growth of our Land Development practice.

Physical Demands: Must be able to regularly talk, hear and operate a computer, keyboard and mouse and occasionally lift, pull/push and carry up to 20 pounds with accommodations.

Work Conditions: Exposure to constant or intermittent sounds at a low or moderate level consistent with an office setting. Exposure to high-stress, fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment. Travel to other BKF locations and client sites may be required.

• The typical base salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $150,000.00, annualized depending upon skills, experience, education, and geographical location. This is a salary position paid biweekly.
