Job summary

Stantec’s Naples, Florida office is seeking a Civil Engineer Intern to join our Infrastructure team. The role involves design of site, grading, drainage, and utilities with client and agency coordination.

You will prepare design reports and documentation, assist with permitting, and contribute to project reviews in a collaborative, growth-focused environment. The position requires a Civil Engineering degree, EIT, and 2+ years of relevant design experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Engineer Intern (EIT) License is required.
• 2+ years of relevant design experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supports project team in development of design documentation, plans, and reports for relevant project design elements.
• Prepares and revises documentation required for land development permitting through local, state and federal jurisdictions.
• Performs quality reviews for documents in various project phases including construction plans, reviewing agency submittal packages, and engineering calculation reports.
• Assist in preparing engineering calculation reports including but not limited to: stormwater design, potable water design, sanitary sewer design, and roadway design.
• Attends project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants.
• Takes sufficient notes at all meetings in order to organize efforts and follow through with requested deliverables.
• Coordinates and keeps consistent communication with other disciplines to ensure entire design team has same design intent and is on schedule.
• Prepares and coordinates submittals to permitting entities.
• Assists in the review of shop drawings and submittals, responds to request for information, prepares site observation reports, and performs other construction administration tasks.
• Assists in the evaluation and selection of civil systems and materials.
• Participates in value engineering and basic cost estimating.
• Performs calculations to analyze and design civil system components using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.
• Ready to step in and assist with any of design teams tasks in order to complete project on time and with quality design.
