Job Description

Consider joining our team with the following opportunity: A Civil Engineer with Houston Engineering Inc. (HEI) will spend time in the field working on outdoor construction phase activities as well as a variety of in-office projects assisting engineers.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with plan specifications and estimates as well as documenting construction activities.
  • Assist with AutoCAD Civil 3D drawings and update redlines with various project set drawings.
  • Operate electronic survey instruments such as GPS and Total Station.
  • Perform work in a variety of software such as HEC-RAS, MicroStation, AutoCAD, SWMM, ArcGIS, etc.
  • Potential observation and data collection at different types of project sites.
  • Assist with research, development and design of projects.
  • We strive to provide a personalized based on your area of interest. This may include learning how to do hydraulic and hydrology modeling or conducting reinforcement reviews for bridges.
Qualifications
  • Enrolled in a Civil Engineering or similar program from an accredited post-secondary institution, or related field.
  • Completed coursework in general surveying and AutoCAD are .
  • Able to work extended periods of time in outdoor conditions.
  • Above average math and communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and availability.
