We are seeking a Civil Engineer III- Transportation Plans to join our Chicago, IL team! Come join us!

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop transportation plans and design transportation systems that improve safety and mobility including but not limited to traffic signals, signal systems, ITS, signs and markings
  • Conduct traffic studies and analyze traffic data to determine patterns and trends
  • Prepare reports, specifications, and designs for transportation projects
  • Assist/develop with the preparation of project budgets and schedules
  • Review and comment on transportation plans that improve safety and mobility including but not limited to traffic signals, signal systems, ITS, signs and markings
  • Develop traffic signal timing and programming plans
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies and community organizations
  • Provide technical support and guidance to project teams
  • Stay up to date with advances in transportation/traffic engineering and technology
  • Conduct site visits and field investigations as needed
  • BS degree in Civil Engineering
  • 5 years of experience in traffic engineering
  • 2 years of experience as a project/task lead with transportation engineering projects

Technical requirements:

  • Certifications/License's: PE, PTOE (preferred)
  • Technical and/or report writing
  • Experience with CDOT and IDOT District 1 Traffic Signal Design
  • Federal and Illinois MUTCD
  • Strong Familiarity with ADA/PROWAG
  • • Strong Familiarity with Microstation, HCS, Synchro

Other miscellaneous qualities:

  • Travel anticipated for 5% of the time
  • Dedication to safety and being part safety-oriented culture
  • Agreeable to working off site at client offices for extended periods of time
