Job summary

Abonmarche Consultants, Inc. seeks a Civil Engineer to support a variety of municipal and private projects in our South Bend, IN office.

You will use AutoCAD Civil 3D and standard design practices to contribute to roadways, sewers, water mains, bridges, trails and asset management. The ideal candidate holds a BS in Civil Engineering, may have an EIT, and brings 0–3 years of experience with strong communication and collaboration.

Qualifications

• BS Civil Engineering required.
• EIT preferred.
• 0–3 years experience.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of computer software and hardware, including Microsoft Office and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Experience with construction materials, procedures, and documents.
• INDOT/ACI Concrete Certification and INDOT Density Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for municipal and private projects (roads, sewers, water, bridges, trails).
• Attend client meetings.
• Assist in estimating probable construction costs.
• Prepare design computations and quantity estimates.
• Prepare reports, plans, schedules, environmental impact studies, permits and designs.
• Develop computer models for hydraulics, hydrology, traffic and terrain.
• Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to prepare engineering documents.
• Construction inspection duties as needed per contract documents.
