Eversource Energy is seeking an Engineer to join their Substation Civil Engineering & Design Team in Berlin, CT. This role involves designing and analyzing infrastructure for high-voltage electrical facilities, ensuring safe and reliable electric service. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and 3-5 years of related experience, with proficiency in RISA and MathCAD.
The position offers hybrid work options and requires occasional travel between MA, CT, and NH.

We have an amazing opportunity to join our Substation Civil Engineering & Design Team. The Engineer in this role will work with complex systems and equipment while providing engineering and technical services to support our growing organization. The position offers a unique opportunity to work both in the office and in the field on a variety of interesting projects, including designing new substations and infrastructure, analyzing systems and disruptions to service, working with transformers, engineering electrical protection and control circuits, and handling acceptance testing of equipment, failures of equipment, and analysis of system disturbances.
In this strategic role, the Engineer is responsible for developing, expanding, and designing the system and its equipment to meet the mission and objectives of the organization. The Engineer will create civil, structural, and site development designs and perform calculations for electrical substations, ensuring that Eversource’s transmission and distribution systems are designed to high‑quality standards that provide customers with safe, reliable, competitively priced, and environmentally sound electric service. This position shares accountability with peers in the strategy, development, and design of the organization’s comprehensive long‑term plan for the transmission/distribution system.
The role is based in Berlin, CT
Eversource supports work‑life balance by offering hybrid schedules for certain roles. Eligibility is based on job responsibilities, operational needs, nature of work and team dynamics. Current guidelines require employees to work at least three days in the office, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with the third day set by the employee and supervisor based on department needs. These guidelines apply to roles approved for remote work and are subject to change, based on managerial discretion and work performance. All applicants must be able to work up to five days in the office if needed (for example, emergencies, training, or other business needs) or should the policy change.
Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program. Salary is commensurate with your experience. This position is eligible for a potential incentive. The annual salary range for this position is: $100,490.00–$111,660.00.
