Job summary

City of Peoria in the United States is seeking a licensed Civil Engineer to join the Development and Engineering department. You will review development projects, ensure compliance with applicable codes, and coordinate with applicants through planning, permitting, and inspection stages.

The position requires a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, at least three years’ experience, and a Professional Engineer license with Arizona registration preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of three years’ professional engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer license required upon hire; Arizona registration preferred.
• Valid Arizona driver's license upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform reviews of development projects to ensure code and design standards compliance.
• Complete development engineering reviews including grading, drainage, water/sewer, paving, and SWPPP plans.
• Coordinate with internal and external customers through planning to permitting and inspection.
• Attend meetings and clearly communicate engineering requirements to developers, engineers, planners, city staff and the public.
