Job summary

Guardian Engineering Enterprises, LLC seeks a Civil Engineer to join our Houston, TX, Chicago, IL, or Brooklyn, NY offices. The role focuses on civil infrastructure, site development, and mission-critical facilities, including AI infrastructure and data center solutions.

You will design site development plans, grading and drainage systems, utility networks, and stormwater management, while coordinating with clients and regulatory agencies to ensure environmental compliance and project success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (civil preferred) and ABET-accredited program preferred.
• EIT certification preferred; PE license a plus but not required.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, and civil design software; drainage and grading analysis tools.
• Exposure to data center site development and infrastructure systems including site layout planning and utility coordination.
• Basic knowledge of site development requirements for technology infrastructure facilities including site grading and utility capacity planning.

Responsibilities

• Prepare specifications for project assignments detailing client performance requirements, design codes, and vendor drawing requirements for site development and civil infrastructure systems.
• Design site development plans for data center campuses and industrial facilities, emphasizing site layout optimization, utility coordination, and infrastructure reliability.
• Support civil infrastructure design including grading plans, drainage systems, and utility networks for high-performance facilities.
• Prepare engineering sketches, grading computations, drainage analyses, and design models for data centers and AI infrastructure campuses.
• Contribute to the design of stormwater management systems and erosion control measures ensuring environmental compliance and site sustainability.
• Develop specifications for civil construction (earthwork, utilities, roadways, and site improvements) specific to data center and industrial developments.
• Review vendor drawings for compliance and coordinate with clients, subcontractors, utility companies, and regulatory agencies.
• Implement sustainable site design practices to optimize development efficiency for data centers and industrial sites.
• Work within schedule and budget parameters while maintaining company quality standards.
• Coordinate civil design with topographic surveys, geotechnical investigations, and environmental studies for comprehensive site planning.
• Comply with HSSE standards and actively participate in hazard identification programs.
• Support client relationships through professional communication, estimating support, and sharing technical knowledge with team members.
