Job summary

AECOM in Honolulu, Hawaii, is seeking a Civil Engineer with 4+ years of waste water treatment experience to join our Honolulu team. This hybrid, full-time role focuses on design and execution of water and wastewater projects, from pump stations to piping and site coordination.

You will lead or support design tasks, prepare drawings and specs, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and assist in construction phases and client communications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• 4+ years of progressive civil engineering experience, preferably with water or waste water treatment.
• PE license preferred or ability to obtain within 6–12 months.
• Hybrid work schedule with in-office work in Honolulu.
• Ability to travel periodically for client meetings and site visits.
• Sponsorship for US work authorization is not available for this position.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support design tasks for civil projects.
• Prepare and review drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and bid documents.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including subconsultants and internal groups.
• Provide support during construction phases, including site visits and RFIs.
• Interface with clients, stakeholders, and permitting agencies to support project delivery.
• Contribute to project management activities including scope, schedule, and budget tracking.
• Mentor junior engineers for technical development.

AECOM is actively seeking aCivil Engineer with 4+ years of waste water treatment related experienceto join our team. This position is based in Honolulu, Hawaii, though we are also open to qualified applicants inother locations within the State of Hawaii.

The successful candidate will support a wide range of civil design projectsassociated with water and waste water treatment systems. You’ll be working on projects ranging from pump station and sewer pipelinedesign to grading, drainage, utility coordination, and construction administrationin a collaborative environment focused on technical excellence and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead or support design tasks
• Prepare and reviewtechnical drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and bid documents in compliance with state, and local standards.
• Participate incoordination of multidisciplinary teams, including subconsultants and internal design groups (structural, electrical, geotechnical).
• Provide support duringconstruction phases, including site visits, submittal reviews, and RFI responses.
• Interface withclients, stakeholders, and permitting agenciesto support project delivery.
• Contribute toproject management activities, including scope, schedule, and budget tracking under the direction of senior staff.
• Assist inmentoring junior engineersand supporting their technical development.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• 4+ years of progressive civil engineering experience, preferably with a focus on water or waste water treatment projects or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Requirements

• Professional Engineer (PE) licenseor ability to obtain within 6-12 months.
• Familiarity withconstruction administration and QA/QC procedures.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel periodically for client meetings and site visits.
• This position requires a hybrid work schedule which includes in-office work in Honolulu.
• Sponsorship for US work authorization isnot availablefor this position now or in the future.
