Pierce County's Surface Water Management team is seeking an experienced engineer to lead internal design teams and manage consultant services for capital projects such as fish passage culverts, floodplain reconnection, and water quality improvements.
The role emphasizes coordinating with consultants and staff, using HEC-RAS, Bluebeam, GIS, AutoCAD, and hydraulic/hydrologic modeling to deliver projects on time and within budget. Professional development and career growth are offered.
In this role you will work on the Surface Water Management (SWM) team that provides capital project delivery for engineering design, environmental permitting, property acquisition, construction management, and project oversight. Your primary focus will be on managing internal design teams to deliver a variety of capital projects. Additional duties will include procuring and managing consultant services to support your teams. You will use your experience and knowledge in project delivery for surface water projects such as fish passage culverts, floodplain reconnection, levee setbacks, water quality, and more. You will communicate and plan this work with consultants and your team while utilizing HEC-RAS, Bluebeam, GIS, AutoCAD, Hydraulic and Hydrologic modeling, and other computer applications to ensure that projects are successfully completed.
