Description
The Mannik & Smith Group, Inc. (MSG) is a people focused, award-winning, full-service consulting firm that offers a wide array of services including civil and geotechnical engineering, environmental consulting, planning, landscape architecture, agriculture, surveying and construction support. Our talented staff of more than 450+ professionals deliver integrated planning, design, engineering and construction solutions.

Due to MSG's continued growth, a new opening is available for a Civil Engineer to assist with our projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work in conjunction with other licensed engineers assisting with the design and preparation of a variety of private, commercial, industrial, energy, water/wastewater, private, community, land development, and environmental permitting projects throughout the Midwest
  • Coordinate with fellow MSG staff across a variety of services sectors, including: Surveying, Geotechnical, Site Construction, Traffic, Transportation etc.
  • Perform and check various design calculations and perform various tasks as they relate to preparing a design package
  • Developing construction documents including plans sets, specifications, and bid sets
  • Prepare front end feasibility documents, due diligence reports and zoning studies, project development, storm water modeling, design, and report cost estimates and detailed design plans

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 2-8 years of experience working for a civil engineering firm preferred
  • EIT or FE certification in the state of Pennsylvania, with the desire to obtain PE certification.
  • Practical experience in design and plan preparation for site development projects.
  • Understanding of guidelines and specifications
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D is required.
  • Proficiency in independent preparation of stormwater management reports and design.
  • Roadway design and survey experience are a plus
  • The ability to engage reviewing & regulatory agencies while preparing technical designs and addressing comments is a critical part of our process.
