CIVIL ENGINEERING TECH SUPPORT

BB&E is an employee-owned full service civil and environmental engineering and consulting firm, headquartered in Northville, Michigan, serving both the Federal and Industrial sectors across the United States. Our team provides Environmental Consulting, Facilities Engineering, and Program/Project Management Services to Federal and private clients.

Position Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Civil Engineer to support the AFCEC/COSC Branch, providing broad technical and management support in civil engineering areas such as antiterrorism, small arms ranges, dams, and bridges. This role supports all AF installations, AFIMSC, MAJCOMs, and Air Staff, across locations in CONUS and OCONUS. This is a remote position with occasional on-site meetings at Tyndall AFB, Panama City Beach, FL.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

1. Provide professional reviews, assessments, and expert opinions on civil engineering knowledge management.
2. Develop and review engineering criteria, UFCs, UFGS, AFIs, drawings, and other guidance annually.
3. Conduct 35-45 professional reviews and assessments annually.
4. Review 20-40 engineering documents per year.
5. Review 20-30 projects involving antiterrorism, ranges, dams, and bridges annually.
6. Perform 1-3 site visits annually; manage 40-50 requests in CE DASH.

Key Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship and SECRET Clearance required.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
• Experience and knowledge include:

1. 15+ years in civil engineering codes, design, and construction.
2. 5+ years in assessing and resolving construction issues.
3. 15+ years in civil design, analysis, and evaluation (structures, geotechnical, pavements, hydraulics, antiterrorism, water/waste treatment).

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks independently.

Experience & Education

• Minimum 15 years in civil design, operations, and standards development, including 5 years in structural/foundation design.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university; Master’s preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

• Ability to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, and remain stationary for at least 60% of the time.
• Operate office equipment; lift up to 25 lbs.; communicate clearly.
• Work outdoors and indoors, exposed to weather, rough terrain, confined spaces, and heights.
• Wear PPE as necessary; may encounter hazards.
