  • Prepare detailed plans and technical specifications for construction bidding and contractor use.
  • Support Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) monitoring during construction to verify compliance with design specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Document field observations, test results, and construction activities in clear and accurate reports.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with engineering staff and management to deliver projects on schedule and within scope.
  • Use AutoCAD Civil 3D and related civil design tools to develop drawings, models, and design details.
  • Travel to project sites, primarily within Kentucky and surrounding states, to perform field work and CQA monitoring as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with internal team members and external stakeholders to address design questions and support project delivery.

  • Familiarity with Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) practices for earthwork, liners, or related infrastructure.
  • Interest in developing expertise in leachate collection systems, landfill gas collection systems, and related environmental controls.
  • Ability to manage time effectively while balancing office design tasks and field responsibilities.
  • Motivation to grow professionally within a multi-disciplinary engineering and environmental services firm.
  • Interest in working in an industry that remains steady and offers long-term project opportunities.
Work Environment

You will work within a multi-disciplined environmental and civil engineering firm that has been established for decades and is headquartered in Kentucky. The organization has built a strong reputation for delivering quality engineering services across areas such as water and wastewater system design, dam design, hydrological studies, environmental assessments, air and water quality studies, urban and industrial planning, solid waste management, energyenvironmental interface, computer technology, sampling, and laboratory services. Management consists of technically oriented professionals who emphasize personally tailored customer service, sound design experience, and a thorough understanding of state and federal regulatory requirements. The work environment combines approximately 60% office-based design and analysis with about 40% field work on active project sites. Office work typically involves using AutoCAD Civil 3D and other civil engineering tools in a collaborative team setting, while field work includes site visits, CQA monitoring, and coordination with project stakeholders.
