Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company LLC, through WECTEC Staffing Services, seeks a Senior Civil Engineer (11+ years) to lead utility-scale solar and BESS projects onsite in Juno Beach, FL. This 1-year contract role focuses on due diligence, design oversight, and value engineering to ensure constructability and cost optimization.

You will manage external firms, coordinate with EPCs, and guide progress through design milestones, reporting to the Project Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
• 11-15 years civil engineering experience.
• Experience with utility-scale solar, BESS, substations, or large infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of grading, drainage, stormwater, permitting, and construction support.
• Experience managing external engineering firms and EPC contractors.
• Professional Engineer License preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil due diligence reviews (ALTA, geotech, environmental, permitting, drainage, and grading).
• Manage and review EOR deliverables through design milestones (30/60/90/IFC).
• Support design automation process for automated BESS designs.
• Support project development, constructability reviews, CAPEX estimates, and value engineering.
• Coordinate with EORs, EPCs, surveyors, geotechnical consultants, and internal engineering teams.
• Review RFIs, change orders, and construction issues through project execution.
• Support hydrology, drainage, roadway, grading, and other site development activities.
• Provide technical leadership for utility-scale solar and battery energy storage projects.

About the role:

Our client is looking for a senior Civil Engineer (11+ years of experience) to provide technical leadership for utility-scale solar and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. You will manage civil engineering due diligence, overseeing engineering design deliverables through all project phases, supporting automated BESS design projects, and ensuring constructability, cost optimization, and successful project execution. You will report to the Project Manager. This role is onsite in Juno Beach, FL. This is a 1 year contract.

Key Responsibilities:
