Job summary

Stantec is actively seeking a full-time entry level Civil Engineer-in-Training to support our Community Development practice in San Bernardino, Irvine, or Pasadena, California. You will prepare plans, specifications, and estimates for civil facilities while gaining licensure experience under senior engineers.

This role emphasizes mentorship, cross-functional collaboration, and exposure to residential, commercial, industrial, and recreational projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Civil Engineering or similar accredited engineering degree.
• Minimum of 1 year of engineering experience preferred.
• EIT preferred or plans to take the FE exam in CA within 6 months of hire.

Stantec is actively seeking qualified candidates for a full‑time entry level Civil Engineer‑in‑Training to join our growing Community Development practice in San Bernardino, Irvine, or Pasadena, California.

In this role you will use your technical education and competencies in a consulting engineering role to prepare plans, specifications, and estimates for civil facilities (grading, roadways, drainage improvements, other support utilities, etc.), and assist with the implementation of these facilities on a wide variety of projects (residential, commercial, industrial, institutional, recreational, etc.). We will provide you with the opportunity to work in a dynamic team setting to obtain applicable experience for your Professional Engineering License as you work under the supervision and mentorship of experienced professionals.

Your Key Responsibilities

Your Capabilities and Credentials

Education and Experience

• Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Civil Engineering or similar accredited engineering degree.

• Minimum of 1 year of engineering experience preferred.

• EIT preferred or plans to take the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam in the state of California or demonstrate the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Benefits Summary

Pay Range
Locations in CO, HI, IL, MD, and various CA, NJ, VA areas $74,600.00 – $104,400.00 annually
Locations in WA, DC, and various CA, MA, VA areas $80,000.00 – $112,000.00 annually

Pay Transparency In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part‑time roles will be pro‑rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
