Job summary

LaBella Associates is seeking a Civil Designer to design municipal engineering plans across our Rochester, Buffalo, Latham, Elmira, NY and Scranton, PA offices. You will draft using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Revit, supporting sustainable renewable projects and site observation.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in civil engineering or related field, 2–4 years drafting experience, and an EIT or plan to obtain within 12 months. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of drafting and design experience for engineering plans.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Revit preferred.
• EIT certification or ability to obtain within 12 months.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are sourcing candidates for a Civil Designer position in our Rochester, Buffalo, Latham, Elmira, NY or Scranton, PA office designing plans for municipal engineering projects.

Job Duties

• Work independently and collaboratively on planning, design, and/or research on conventional renewable engineering projects.
• Produce drawings using computer aided drafting systems AutoCad, Civil 3D and Revit. Evaluate, analyze, interpret, select, and apply standard techniques, procedures, and criteria for renewable engineering projects.
• Conduct site visits and assist with construction observation and data collection.
• Support senior engineer in evaluating design alternatives and solving technical challenges.
• Collaborate with other divisions and departments in a professional manner.
• Engage in design training and mentoring activities that build a strong technical foundation.

Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000 per year

The specific salary offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
• 2- 4 years of experience in drafting and design for engineering plans and documents.
• Knowledge of drafting methods and procedures using AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Revit (preferred, not required).
• Understand, analyze, and process complex technical information and materials.
• Strong communication, teamwork and curiosity about renewable engineering projects.
• EIT certification or ability to obtain within 12 months.
