Your Opportunity

The role of a Civil Designer is to work independently and as a team member on a wide range of exciting projects under the guidance of a Senior Engineer/Project Manager. Projects include commercial, industrial, residential, and municipal work across the state of Minnesota and within Wisconsin as needed.

A Civil Designer will perform a variety of tasks which may include analysis, calculations, preparation of exhibits, and construction documents. The projects that a Civil Designer may be assigned to may be broad, varied, and diverse in scope.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Perform and assist with all aspects of civil engineering design including layout/geometry, grading, drainage, paving, water, sewer, and erosion control.

  • Prepare complete submission packages, supporting calculations, quantity and cost estimates, project schedules, and other duties.

  • Assist project manager / project engineer with consultant and project team coordination.

  • Perform planning activities, including project research, assessment of project feasibility

  • Utilizes CAD in development of three-dimensional models of civil systems.

  • Conducts quality assurance and quality control on projects.

Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought.

  • AutoCAD Civil 3D experience in land development, utility, and roadway design.

  • Thorough understanding of civil engineering concepts and ability to effectively communicate ideas to others.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Self-starter who can work independently and with a team

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Possess a valid driver’s license and good driving record.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering

  • Engineer-in-Training certification preferred.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Pay Range:

  • Locations in MN, OH, VT, & Various CA, ME, NY, VA Areas-$69,800.00 - $97,700.00 Annually

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.

Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees (working at least 20 hours per week) have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave. Regular full-time and part-time employees will receive ten paid holidays in each calendar year. In addition, employees will be eligible to accrue vacation between 10 and 20 days per year and eligible for paid sick leave (and if more generous, in accordance with state and local law).

Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.
