Job summary

Stantec in Minnesota is seeking a Civil Designer to work independently and with teams on a wide range of projects across Minnesota and Wisconsin.

You will perform design tasks, prepare submissions, support scheduling and cost estimates, and use CAD to develop 3D models, ensuring QA/QC on all projects. The role involves collaboration with senior engineers and project managers on commercial, industrial, residential, and municipal projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform and assist with all aspects of civil engineering design including layout/geometry, grading, drainage, paving, water, sewer, and erosion control.
• Prepare complete submission packages, supporting calculations, quantity and cost estimates, project schedules, and other duties.
• Assist project manager / project engineer with consultant and project team coordination.
• Perform planning activities, including project research, assessment of project feasibility.
• Utilizes CAD in development of three-dimensional models of civil systems.
• Conducts quality assurance and quality control on projects.

Your Opportunity

The role of a Civil Designer is to work independently and as a team member on a wide range of exciting projects under the guidance of a Senior Engineer/Project Manager. Projects include commercial, industrial, residential, and municipal work across the state of Minnesota and within Wisconsin as needed.

A Civil Designer will perform a variety of tasks which may include analysis, calculations, preparation of exhibits, and construction documents. The projects that a Civil Designer may be assigned to may be broad, varied, and diverse in scope.
