Job summary

Olsson provides multidisciplinary design services for land development and other projects. The Design Technician works closely with technical staff to find the best approach to solve engineering and design needs.

As a full-time position in Omaha, you will assist with CAD operations, contribute to plan production, and support project teams across terrain and weather conditions while growing your drafting skills within a collaborative, growth-focused environment.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in drafting or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of three years CAD software experience (AutoCAD Civil 3D).
  • Able to work collaboratively and take ownership of tasks.
  • Experience supporting engineering design on site development projects.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with standard computer-aided design operations including advanced plan production, plan sheet creation, and entry-level design principles undermoderate direction and supervision.
  • Receives instruction on project objectives, advanced features, and possible solutions.
  • Obtains assistance on unusual problems and has work reviewed.

Job Description

Olsson provides multidisciplinary design services for mixed-use, commercial, and residential land development projects, along with industrial, sports, schools, and other site development types. The Design Technician works closely with technical staff to find the best approach to solve engineering and design needs.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists with standard computer-aided design operations including, but not limited to,advanced plan production, plan sheet creation, and entry-level design principles undermoderate direction and supervision.
  • Receives instruction on project objectives, advanced features, and possible solutions.
  • Obtains assistance on unusual problems and has work reviewed.
  • Performs engineering support tasks such as gathering data, updating and maintainingcomputer files, preparing copies of drawings, and documenting design changes.
  • May be required to work in all types of terrain and weather conditions and on projectsites in various stages of construction.
