Job summary

Woolpert invites you to join the Civil Design Intern program for the Summer semester in our Greenville, SC or Columbia, SC offices. This full-time internship (40 hours/week) offers real-world project involvement and mentorship from licensed engineers.

You will work on drainage, channels, detention basins, storm sewers, and water distribution projects, with site work and collaboration across teams. The position includes an onsite component; housing/relocation and visa sponsorship are not provided.

Qualifications

• Be enrolled as a student at an accredited college or university, preferably with at least sophomore status.
• Pursuing a Civil or Environmental Engineering degree, with an interest in water related infrastructure design.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to function well in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
• Exceptional multitasking and time management skills

Responsibilities

• Work as part of the Civil design team on a wide range of projects focused on drainage improvements including channel, detention basin and storm sewer design, along with site work and water distribution projects.
• Gain real-world experience working on actual projects alongside licensed engineers that are experts in their fields.
• Assist on a variety of projects doing such things as calculations, cost estimates, and preparing design plans.
• Work on software and systems such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, Google Earth and ArcPro.
• Work as a member of a team that coordinates with other internal teams and external subconsultants and clients.
• Go on 1-2 site visits and see the projects we work on.
• Perform tasks and solve problems with a high degree of independence.
