Job description

Civil Design Engineer

Location: Tulsa or Oklahoma City, OK, or Houston, TX (hybrid flexibility available)

Sponsorship: Not available for this position now or in the future. Applicants must have permanent authorization to work in the United States.

Position Overview

Are you a Civil Design Engineer who thrives on hands‑on project work? This is a unique opportunity to join a collaborative and close‑knit team focused on delivering meaningful transportation and municipal infrastructure projects. While roadway and bridge design is the greatest need, candidates with strong backgrounds in water/wastewater or municipal/infrastructure site design are also encouraged to apply. This position is design‑driven — ideal for engineers who prefer “doing” the work while still mentoring others and influencing project outcomes.

Why This Role Is Exciting!
  • 💰 Salary: Direct‑hire opportunity, $100k‑$130k depending on experience and licensure
  • 📈 Retirement: 401k with company match + ESOP
  • 🌴 Paid Time Off: Generous PTO, holidays, and vacation accrual starting in year one
  • 🩺 Health Benefits: Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, life, and disability coverage
  • 🎓 Professional Development: Continuing education support, PE licensing assistance, and clear career progression
  • 🤝 Additional Perks: Collaborative team culture, transparent company operations, and wellness initiatives
Why This Role Stands Out
  • Impactful Design Work: Lead projects in your discipline of expertise (roadways, bridges, water/wastewater, or municipal infrastructure) that enhance safety and community growth
  • Technical Leadership: Mentor junior engineers and CAD technicians, providing guidance and ensuring high-quality design standards
  • Hands‑On Engineering: Spend the majority of your time in‑office on design deliverables, rather than heavy project management
  • Collaborative Culture: Join a close‑knit, employee‑owned firm that values teamwork, open communication, and long‑term growth
  • Balanced Flexibility: Primarily office‑based role with hybrid flexibility available on a case‑by‑case basis
Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop projects in your core discipline (roadway/bridge, water/wastewater, or municipal infrastructure)
  • Collaborate with project teams and provide occasional support for client presentations or technical Q&A
  • Mentor and oversee work assignments for junior engineers and technical staff
  • Utilize Civil 3D for design deliverables; MicroStation experience a plus
  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards such as AASHTO, MUTCD, ODOT, and municipal design guidelines
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) preferred; strong EITs with 5+ years of design experience may be considered
  • 5+ years of progressive design experience in at least one of the following areas:
    • Roadway and bridge design (primary need)
    • Water and wastewater systems
    • Municipal site design/infrastructure
  • Proficiency in Civil 3D; familiarity with MicroStation is helpful but not required
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills with a focus on collaboration and mentorship
