JOB OBJECTIVE

The Civil Craftsman/Workers are responsible for constructing, repairing and maintaining various civil structures such as buildings, and other infrastructure facilities. The role involves working with a range of materials such as concrete, steel, wood, and other construction materials. The Civil Craftsman must have knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction techniques, and safety regulations.

REQUIREMENTS

EXPERIENCE

• Must have2+ years working as a carpenter on an industrial constructionproject
• Must be able to read blueprints, plans, and drawings proficiently to performduties
• Must have knowledge of materials, tools, and processes involved with basic building techniques and formconstruction
• Must be able to compute basic arithmetic functions, measure, mark, and cut equipment and materials tospecification
• Must have reliabletransportation
• Must be able to work a full work schedule and anyadditionalovertime with little to nonotification
• Must be willing toassistother crafts and performadditionaljob duties while not performing primary craftduties
• Must pass drug test and backgroundcheck

KNOWLEDGE

• Civil Carpenter Journeyman will construct, dismantle, and repair wooden and metal objects and/or concrete forms.
• Read blueprints and specifications todeterminethe scope of work: locations, quantities, and sizes of materialsrequired.
• Identifyall toolsrequiredfor tasks.
• Identifysafety risks and the precautionsrequiredtoeliminatethose risks.
• Measure, mark, and cut required wooden/metallic materials torequiredspecifications.
• Construct, re-enforce, and dismantle pre-constructed concrete forms.
• Build and construct wooden forms.
• Work on miscellaneous construction projects such as but not limited to building decks and steps, building bulletin boards, and building any additional wooden structures.
• Must be willing toassistother crafts and performadditionaljob duties while not performing primary craft duties.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Employeewill be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting,sittingand lifting.
• Will talk and hear to communicate.
• Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, andpull: objects, materials,controlsand tools.
• May berequiredto pick up, lift, carry and move up to 50lbs.
• Will work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and may occasionally workoff ofplatforms/scaffolding using the appropriate fall protection requirements.
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions (including heat, rain, cold and wind) while wearingappropriate PPE.
• Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limitedto:hard hat, safety glasses/spoggles, ear plugs, masks/respirators, hi-vis safety vests, leather gloves and leather steel-toed work boots.
