Job Summary
The Civil Superintendent will oversee day-to-day field operations for pavement preservation work, including coordinating crews, equipment, and materials while maintaining productivity, quality, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily field operations for pavement preservation activities such as crack sealing, slurry seal, microsurfacing, surface treatments, and related roadway work
- Supervise field crews and subcontractors to ensure work is performed safely and efficiently
- Coordinate schedules, manpower, equipment, and material deliveries
- Ensure work complies with project plans, specifications, and quality requirements
- Maintain daily reports, production tracking, and field documentation
- Coordinate with project management and quality control staff
- Enforce safety policies and promote a strong safety culture on all job sites
- Communicate with owners, inspectors, and agency representatives as required
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a superintendent or foreman in civil or roadway construction
- Strong understanding of pavement preservation methods and sequencing
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and schedules
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Experience managing multiple crews and working under tight schedules
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience on DOT or municipal pavement preservation projects
- OSHA training or equivalent safety certifications
