Job summary

Consor in Austin, TX is seeking a Construction Inspector to support land development and municipal projects. You will monitor field activities, inspect materials and workmanship, and ensure compliance with plans, specs, and contract requirements in a hybrid field/office setting.

The role involves coordinating with contractors, engineers, and agency staff; performing field tests; drafting inspection reports; and assisting with closeout, schedules, and project delivery.

Qualifications

• HS diploma required; BS in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred
• Two plus years of construction inspection experience
• OSHA 10 or 30 preferred
• FAA Part 107 license preferred
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply plans, specs, and contract documents
• Experience inspecting water, wastewater, utility, municipal infrastructure, or public works construction projects
• Valid driver's license with clean record
• Familiarity with Bluebeam or similar software
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Outdoor field environment with varying weather and physical demands

Responsibilities

• Inspect, observe, document, and verify work in progress for compliance with schedule, contract documents, and plans
• Monitor installation of water, reclaimed water, and wastewater infrastructure
• Coordinate inspection activities with contractors, engineers, utility staff, and agency representatives
• Identify non-conforming work and document observations
• Support project closeout activities including punch lists and final estimates
• Process pay applications submitted by contractors each month
• Draft inspection reports for site visits
• Attend in-office meetings to support planning and scheduling
• Review plans, specifications, schedules, and contractor submittals; maintain project records
• Perform field testing activities (pressure, leakage, compaction)
• Coordinate between contractors and engineering staff for field modifications
• Conduct drone flights of project sites
