Job summary

Hanson Professional Services Inc. is seeking a Construction Engineering Technician with civil construction experience to perform construction observation in the Illinois area.

The role focuses on observation of paving, drainage, utilities, lighting, structures, and site development during construction of transportation projects. You will monitor compliance with plans and specs, oversee materials testing onsite, and coordinate field activities with contractors and designers while assisting

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years of construction observation and materials testing.
• Current driver’s license.
• Airport/civil project experience and IDOT certifications preferred.
• Ability to provide constructability reviews and quantity takeoffs.

Responsibilities

• Represent owner in monitoring construction activities for compliance with plans and specifications.
• Perform and/or oversee onsite construction materials testing.
• Coordinate and communicate field construction activities with contractor and designers.
• Assist engineers with developing plans, specifications, quantities and constructability reviews.
