Job summary

Brown Industrial Construction in Baton Rouge, LA is seeking a Civil Carpenter Helper to support concrete foundation construction. You will assist with form setting, material handling, concrete placement, and site prep while following safety standards.

This role requires willingness to learn blueprint reading and basic layout techniques; you will work with carpenters and concrete crews, perform manual labor, and contribute to a clean, safe job site.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn basic blueprint reading and layout techniques.
• TWIC Card and Medical Clearance required.
• Drug screening and Background checks required.

Responsibilities

• Assist carpenters with building, setting, and stripping concrete forms.
• Perform strenuous manual labor on heavy construction projects.
• Assist with setting anchor bolts, tying rebar, scaffolding, screeds, and batter boards.
• Assist in placing and finishing concrete.
• Use hand tools and operate pneumatic and electric power tools under supervision.
• Load, unload, move, and stage construction materials and equipment.
• Maintain a clean and organized job site; follow safety policies.
• Work from heights and various platforms as required.
