Job summary

Penn State University’s AI and Data Infrastructures Learning Lab (AIDILL) invites undergraduates to join VOICE-DC as an Undergraduate Research Assistant. You will support qualitative methods, digital storytelling, and public-facing dissemination, working with faculty and graduate researchers.

You will contribute to transcripts, data organization, and the creation of graphics, story maps, and podcasts, helping communicate community-engaged findings to diverse audiences.

Qualifications

• Interest in education, learning sciences, communication, community development, digital humanities, or related fields.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate written transcripts.
• Experience with graphic design, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, ArcGIS StoryMaps, website content creation, podcast production, or related digital media tools.

Responsibilities

• Produce high-quality transcripts of interviews, working groups, and community engagement activities.
• Assist with qualitative data organization and preparation of research materials for analysis.
• Create graphics, figures, and other dissemination materials for presentations and reports.
• Support development and production of project podcasts, including transcription and asset organization.
• Assist with digital storytelling assets, including story maps, website content, and visual media.
• Format and organize photographs, documents, maps, and multimedia for public-facing sites.
• Conduct literature searches and help with citation management.
• Participate in research team meetings and contribute to resource development.
