Job summary

The City of San José is seeking a strategic Chief Innovation Officer for the Mayor’s Office to lead the Technology and Innovation team and advance the city’s Smart City agenda. Qualifications

• Master's Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field such as public policy, STEM, engineering, law, business, economics, or related field.
• At least ten years of professional experience in a role with responsibilities similar to the duties listed; public affairs, local government, management consulting, technology firms, or related experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop a comprehensive strategy, vision, and program for the Mayor's Office of Technology and Innovation.
• Act as the public face for the Mayor's Office of Technology and Innovation and represent the city on major stages.
• Advise the Mayor on technology and innovation trends and develop strategies to tackle these issues in San José.
• Lead and inspire the Technology and Innovation team with OKRs and work plans.
• Manage portfolio priorities, drive public-private partnerships, and develop policy approaches.
