Qualifications

Job description

enFocus seeks Civic Innovation Financial Projects Director. The position works in our South Bend, Indiana and Elkhart, Indiana offices.

Position Overview
Plan, initiate and manage our project-based financial services across sectors. Responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with key clients, planning and developing statements of work, and managing ongoing projects related to financial planning, forecasting and other financial activities across our client base. Provide oversight of the portfolio of Financial Service-related Projects across a diverse array of industries in our portfolio including: municipality, healthcare, education, manufacturing, and nonprofit. Support the management of the sector portfolios by developing and managing a set of core internal financial tools used for organizational decision making. Guide a team of Project Managers who oversee Innovation Fellows that consist of engineers, analysts, and business backgrounds in delivering projects on-time and within budget. The position will report to the Vice President of Projects at enFocus and work collaboratively with the other team Directors across the project portfolios. This position will oversee a smaller team of Project Managers who oversee the organization's Fellows.

Job duties include:

  • Direct, coordinate and evaluate the activities of the civic innovation project portfolio related to financial services;
  • Present scenarios for securing clients within the local market based upon industry and economic trends;
  • Act as a liaison between enFocus and regional civic innovation clients to interpret customer needs, develop quality criteria and maintain customer satisfaction;
  • Utilize strategic planning techniques to identify and implement financial improvement activities with clients;
  • Suggest and implement service techniques in response to client strategic and operational issues such as developing a business plan and/or investment models;
  • Develop statements of work and manage contractual engagements considering key pricing strategies, cost structure, and legal requirements;
  • Supervise the development and delivery of forecasts and statements for clients based upon sound financial judgment and knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP);
  • Lead the development of financial models to guide decisions by integrating operational, economic, and sector-specific data to guide client decision making;
  • Direct hiring decisions and staff assignments to projects across the portfolio based upon known factors contributing to the success of the project and the skills of the project team;
  • Evaluate portfolio-level financial and operational performance using quantitative analysis to inform resource allocation and long-term strategy;
  • Manage financial risk and performance across multiple concurrent projects, incorporating scenario analysis and long-term forecasting methodologies;
  • Oversee professional development activities for staff in areas such as project management, business administration and financial techniques;
  • Support recruitment activities including interviewing, onboarding, and team development;
  • Assist in the development of Board level reporting and external presentations to clients and potential donors;
  • Utilize financial awareness of local public, private and nonprofit sector issues to solve problems for regional clients and individuals;
  • Oversee the application of financial modeling, forecasting, and data visualization tools to support decision-making across project teams;
  • Support organizational decision making related to portfolio and administrative policies, systems and services.

This position supervises 2 Management Analysts; 2 Financial and Investment Analysts and 2 Operations Research Analysts.

Requires: Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting and 1 year of experience as a Financial analyst in education, municipality, healthcare, and/or non-profit.
