Job summary

Engage Arkansas invites a Civic Engagement Outreach Intern to support the Civic Engagement Manager by elevating stories of service programs, volunteers, and organizations across Arkansas.

The intern will schedule and conduct interviews, write feature articles, and develop narrative content highlighting the impact of civic engagement and public service. This paid internship also offers networking opportunities with federal/state networks and resume portfolio building.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or current enrollment in an accredited college or university.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience conducting interviews and crafting clear narratives.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple assignments.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Google Workspace, and Outlook.
• Familiarity with Zoom or other virtual meeting platforms.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and conduct interviews to gather compelling content.
• Write feature articles and develop narrative content highlighting civic engagement impact.
• Spotlight issue areas monthly by interviewing representatives from agencies, nonprofits, AmeriCorps, and volunteers.
• Support storytelling and promotional efforts related to AmeriCorps programs and recruitment.
