CityVet is now accepting applications for its Veterinarian Externship Program, offering third- and fourth-year DVM students the opportunity to gain hands‑on clinical experience in a veterinarian‑led practice environment.

This program is designed for students seeking meaningful mentorship, real‑world clinical exposure, and insight into practice models centered on autonomy, collaboration, and long‑term career growth.

Program Overview

CityVet externships provide a structured yet flexible clinical experience in small animal general practice settings, with many locations also offering urgent care exposure.

  • Eligibility: 3rd and 4th‑year DVM students at AVMA-accredited veterinary schools
  • Duration: Two‑week externship blocks, with flexibility to accommodate university rotation requirements
  • Stipend: Competitive stipend, paid via direct deposit on the first Friday of the rotation
  • Locations: CityVet clinics available across multiple states
  • Housing: Housing is not provided; however, CityVet can share accommodation recommendations from prior externs
