Bristol Public Schools seeks a 1:1 paraeducator currently at Bristol Central High School to support instructional activities for students with special needs. The role involves assisting in small groups and individual instruction under the guidance of a special education teacher.
Responsibilities include maintaining discipline, preparing instructional materials, and aiding in IEP implementation. Some toileting assistance may be required; PMT training is noted.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, and talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must be able to push items of fifty (50) pounds, such as pushing children on a bike or wheelchair or moving/rearranging furniture. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds. When doing heavier lifting, the employee should do so with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and peripheral vision.

- The noise level in the work environment is typical of classrooms having school children and is a standard acceptable level for this environment. This employee will work throughout the school building, on school grounds and occasionally off campus. The paraprofessional is responsible for the safety and well being of students in his/her charge
Salary: Range $22.12 - $25.18 ( Per contractual agreement BPS Contracts )
Work Hours: 6.5 hours per day (7:20 am to 2:20 pm)
Date of Service: 26 - 27 SY
