Job summary

The City of Midland, Texas seeks a dedicated City Prosecutor to join the City Attorney’s Office. This role prosecutes Class C misdemeanors and municipal code violations in Midland Municipal Court, handling hearings, trials, case screening, and legal research from day one.

You will collaborate with police and code enforcement, prepare pleadings, review reports, and advise on enforcement strategies while contributing to public safety and community service.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical ability to understand complex legal materials.
• Ability to draft clear motions, briefs and related documents.
• Excellent oral and written communication with court officials and the public.

Responsibilities

• Prosecute City Code violations and Class C misdemeanors in Midland Municipal Court.
• Represent the State of Texas in emergency protective order hearings before the Municipal Court.
