Job summary

The City of Leander seeks a Multimedia Specialist under the Communications Director to produce and maintain multimedia projects for PEG, city websites, and social media. You will shoot and edit video, photography, audio, and motion graphics; provide A/V support to departments; manage content for council meetings and public channels; and help improve technology and efficiency.

Qualified candidates have a Bachelor's in communications or related field, at least three years in a similar role, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, cinematography or related field.
• Three years of experience as a Multimedia Specialist or related position.
• Ability to operate multimedia equipment and software for photography, video, audio, editing, and graphic design.
• Must be able to lift or move 50 lbs.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, city events and/or holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Produce and edit video, motion graphics, photography, audio and other content.
• Assist other departments with A/V software, graphics, and tech support.
• Maintain the city’s cable PEG channel programming.
• Post content to city social media channels.
• Edit and organize photo/video storage.
• Ensure content meets style guidelines and correct grammar.
• Participate in meetings and support city events and holidays as needed.
