City of Oxnard's City Manager’s Office is seeking a Project Manager with strong analytical and project management skills to join the team. This role requires a hands-on approach, collaboration across departments, and the ability to synthesize large amounts of information to develop comprehensive solutions.
The selected candidate will manage complex interdepartmental programs, coordinate consultants, prepare staff reports, and engage with city staff, stakeholders, and the public.
The City of Oxnard's City Manager's Office is seeking a Project Manager that possesses strong analytical and project management skills to be part of the team. This individual must have a positive, relational, and energetic leadership style with a willingness to take a "hands-on" approach for creative project management, as well as the ability to collaborate across departments and synthesize large quantities of information to develop and recommend comprehensive solutions regularly. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator with a background in public sector projects and be familiar with project management best practices. This position will be assigned highly visible, outward-facing projects that will involve working closely with both internal City departments and various stakeholders across the City, including local businesses, non-profits, citizen groups, residents, and educational institutions.
Administrative Services Analyst
This classification is distinguished from the Administrative Services Coordinator/Support Supervisor in that it performs professional financial, managerial and/or operational analysis work and/or provides professional program analysis, evaluation and administration.
Incumbents may serve as a lead worker, assigning work, coordinating work, individually contributing to work, and monitoring work completion. Receives general supervision and is expected to prioritize work to meet deadlines and to keep the supervisor informed of timeliness or issues that would impact achievement of a deadline, relational engagements, organizational policy or procedure or in consideration of risk management.
The normal work week is Monday through Thursday, 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, and alternating Fridays, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Depending on the work assignment, staff may be assigned to a shift that is outside the standard work hours. In addition, this position may be required to be available to work additional hours in response to peaks in workloads and changes in department needs, including staffing and supporting evening community and neighborhood focused meetings. The standard work environment varies depending on assignment, but is typically primarily in an office setting with some off-site meetings, and in-field/outside meetings. The City does not offer hybrid or remote work.

For most positions, the City of Oxnard relies on office automation (Microsoft Office/Google) and web-based enabled tools, therefore candidates must be proficient and comfortable with computer use to perform functions associated with on-going work.
Regular and reliable attendance, effective communication skills, and development of effective working relationships are requirements of all positions.
Employees are required to participate in the City's direct deposit plan and are paid on a bi-weekly basis.
This position requires a 12-month probationary period.
