Job summary

City of Statesboro in Georgia seeks an experienced City Manager to lead day-to-day municipal operations under a council-manager framework. The appointee will work with the Mayor and Council to guide growth, improve infrastructure, and advance downtown revitalization.

The ideal candidate has a track record in economic development, strategic planning, and intergovernmental relations, with at least 10 years in local government management and a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred).

Qualifications

• Ten years of progressively responsible local government management experience.
• Five years of leadership as a department head or assistant city manager.
• Proven ability in intergovernmental relations, economic development, and strategic planning.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and direct municipal operations across core government functions.
• Guide smart regional growth while preserving community character.
• Lead infrastructure and capital expansion projects, including utilities and downtown investments.
• Foster regional partnerships and community engagement.
• Mentor workforce development and succession planning.
