Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, public administration, or a closely related field.
• Seven years of progressively responsible professional experience in accounting, finance, budgeting, auditing, or a related field, including at least three years of supervisory or lead responsibility.
• At least five years of governmental or public-sector finance experience is required.
• Municipal finance experience is required and experience within the State of Florida is preferred.
• An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Manages daily operations of the Finance Department and implements departmental goals and procedures.
• Provides leadership and guidance to staff, including hiring, training and performance management.
• Oversees general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, cash and investments, and debt.
• Coordinates quarterly reporting and year-end closing, ensures accurate records and reconciliations.
• Supports external audits and budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses for decision makers.
