Job summary

The City of Oxnard's Cultural and Community Services Department is seeking Student Trainees-Extra Help to support City Corps activities and public service projects. The roles are open to current City Corps members and involve assisting with program duties and event setup across multiple sites.

These are short-term, at-will positions not exceeding 960 hours, with limited benefits, paid bi-weekly, and requires English proficiency and a California work permit.

Qualifications

• The completion of the 7th grade.
• Ages 14–17.
• Must possess or obtain a California state work permit before employment.
• Must be a current City of Oxnard City Corps member.
• Must communicate in English effectively in speaking and writing.

Responsibilities

• Assist with City Corps program support and supervise participants as needed.
• Distribute informational flyers to the public and assist media staff.
• Provide logistics information to participants and the public.
• Assist with general clean-up and setup for community activities.
• Respond to questions and escalate complaints as appropriate.
