Job summary

GVW Group seeks a strategic Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to lead enterprise information security strategy, risk management, and incident response, aligning security with business growth across Birmingham, AL or Chicago, IL.

The role reports to the CFO and requires 10+ years in information security with 5+ in leadership, and certifications such as CISSP/CISM; you will oversee policies, compliance (GDPR/ HIPAA/CCPA/ISO 27001), and security operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; Master’s preferred.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or CRISC are highly desirable.
• 10+ years in information security with 5+ years in a leadership role.
• Proven enterprise cybersecurity program management.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain an enterprise-wide information security strategy and roadmap.
• Advise senior management and the Board on cybersecurity risks, compliance, and threats.
• Align security initiatives with business objectives to support growth while managing risk.
• Oversee design and operations of security infrastructure, firewalls, IDS, and encryption.
• Lead incident response planning and execution during breaches.
• Ensure compliance with GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA, ISO 27001 and other regs; perform audits.
