Job summary

Slash, a fintech company, is hiring its first Chief Information Security Officer to own security across product, infrastructure, people, and vendors. You’ll build the team, write threat models, review architecture, and scale security to support rapid growth while collaborating with bank partners and auditors.

You’ll report to the CTO and work with engineering, compliance, legal, risk, and partner banks to secure a money-moving platform and AI-enabled automation.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in security, with fintech/payments or banking exposure.
• Builder’s track record; scaled security at pace of growth.
• Hands-on with PCI DSS and SOC 2 and bank-exam expectations.

Responsibilities

• Own Slash's security strategy and program end-to-end.
• Build and lead the security team and recruit engineers.
• Secure a platform that moves real money across card, ACH, and APIs.
• Lead account-security, MFA, access controls, and risk collaboration.
• Define security for AI agents and autonomous actions; ensure auditability.
• Own cloud/infrastructure security on AWS and Cloudflare.
• Develop incident response, playbooks, on-call, and comms.
• Oversee compliance: SOC 2 Type II, PCI, and partner audits.
• Manage third-party/vendor risk with banking and crypto partners.
• Run pen tests, bug bounty, and red-team exercises.
