Vernovis, Ltd. in Cincinnati, OH is seeking a Cisco Network Engineer to design, implement, and support a large enterprise network across multi-site environments onsite.

You will lead next-gen networking initiatives while ensuring reliability, security, and performance, with Tier 3 escalation and vendor coordination. The role requires strong Cisco experience (Catalyst/Nexus), expertise in VPN/SASE and firewalls, plus familiarity with SDN, cloud, and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience.
• Experience supporting a large enterprise network with Cisco Catalyst/Nexus.
• CCNA or CCNP certification is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Designs, installs, maintains, and supports a large enterprise network infrastructure.
• Architects and engineers next generation networking solutions.
• Analyzes network performance data and statistics, prepares reports and recommends changes.
• Stays current with network trends to support new applications.
• Interfaces with vendor support groups for escalations and renewals.
• Participates in disaster recovery and testing.
• Provides training and mentoring to staff on topics and design.
• Performs Tier 3 support when needed.

Come join us: Vernovis is looking for a Cisco Network Engineer responsible for the architecture, engineering, administration, and operational support of our client’s enterprise network infrastructure. This individual will play a key role in designing and implementing next-generation networking solutions while ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of a complex multi-site environment. In addition to hands-on engineering responsibilities, this person will act as a Tier 3 escalation resource, partner with vendors, support disaster recovery initiatives, and provide technical leadership and mentorship to other infrastructure team members. The ideal candidate combines deep networking expertise with strong troubleshooting, architecture, and communication skills and is comfortable working across traditional networking, security, cloud, and software-defined networking technologies.

What You'll Do:

• Designs, installs, maintains, and supports a large enterprise network infrastructure.
• Architects and engineers next generation networking solutions.
• Analyzes network performance data and statistics, prepares reports and recommends changes and improvements to ensure performance and availability objectives.
• Stays current with network trends to support new applications, incorporating industry standards and best practices.
• Interfaces with vendor support service groups for contract renewals and to ensure proper escalation during outages or periods of degraded system performance.
• Participates in the implementation of disaster recovery solutions and the execution of periodic disaster recovery tests.
• Provides training and mentoring to other staff on technical topics and network design.
• Performs Tier 3 support for the network infrastructure when problems or issues cannot be resolved by Help Desk or Tier 2 support staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

What You'll Have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or commensurate selection criteria experience.
• Proven experience supporting a large enterprise network infrastructure that includes Cisco Catalyst and Nexus platforms.
• Proven experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting VPN or SASE services is a plus.
• Proven experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting firewalls. Check Point experience is a plus.
• Strong understanding of Software Defined Networking and/or supporting Cloud environments is a plus.
• Strong understanding of Cisco Catalyst Center is a plus.
• Proven experience with Cisco security products such as Identity Services Engine (ISE) is a plus.
• Proven experience with Juniper Mist wireless technologies is a plus.
• Strong understanding of network flow analysis tools.
• Strong understanding of network routing protocols: OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, OMP, and/or MPLS.
• Understanding of VMware vCenter, ESXi 7.x, and Cisco Unified Computing Systems (UCS) is a plus.
• Cisco CCNA or CCNP certification is desirable.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to grasp new concepts and apply them.
• Ability to work under multiple deadlines and minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated ability to understand and analyze customer requirements and provide appropriate solutions.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Demonstrated calm and professional demeanor when handling demanding situations.
• Proven experience in completing assigned tasks accurately and on a timely basis. Cite examples of project management experience in planning, executing and maintaining a project from start to finish.
