Job summary

M.C. Dean, headquartered in Tysons, VA, is seeking a Design Engineer Staff to contribute to CIS engineering design packages for complex critical infrastructure.

You will work with internal teams, vendors, and customers on projects from concept through installation and testing in secure environments. Qualifications include a Bachelor's in a technical field and 2+ years in engineering design, with strong AutoCAD skills and travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (Electrical/Systems/related).
• 2+ years engineering experience, preferably in design-build or integrated systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication to interact with customers, vendors, and internal teams.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Develop Engineering Installation Design Packages including block/riser diagrams, mounting and wiring details using AutoCAD.
• Create cable schedules, device schedules, and performance verification test plans; assist bids with technical concepts.
• Participate in site surveys to validate design requirements and field conditions.
• Support pre-installation testing, system programming, integration testing, and equipment build-outs.
• Assist with engineering calculations (power, heat load, voltage drop, conduit sizing, grounding, network).
• Develop sequences of operations, design basis documents, compliance matrices, and other deliverables.
• Maintain knowledge of NEC, NFPA, UL standards and related CIS requirements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by researching questions and proposing design/process enhancements.
