Lee-Itawamba Library System is seeking a Circulation Assistant to deliver excellent customer service to patrons in person and remotely. You will help patrons check out, renew, and return materials, assist with computer use, and navigate the catalog.
The role involves registering new patrons, informing about library offerings and policies, and maintaining patron records, with evening and weekend shifts on a rotational basis.
The Circulation Assistant position is responsible for providing excellent customer service and assistance to patrons both in-person and via other forms of communication, answering patron questions, computer assistance, helping patrons navigate the library’s collection, and help patrons check out, renew, and return library materials. The Circulation Assistant registers new patrons, informs patrons of library offerings, services, and policies, and assists with maintaining patron records. This position reports to the Manager of Information Services, and includes evening and weekend hours on a rotational basis.
1-2 years customer service experience, library experience preferred
2 years of college education from an accredited institution of higher education
Excellent computer skills and ability to learn library-specific software
Ability to establish and maintain positive, working relationships with library teammates
Ability to handle multiple simultaneous projects and deadlines
