This role is a rare opportunity to lead technology at national scale in healthcare delivery. As the senior technology executive for Optum Care at Home, you will own the platforms that power $22B+ in annual revenue and enable clinically critical care for millions of members. These platforms sit at the center in home clinical delivery, and digital engagement, where technology directly impacts outcomes. You will step into a role with clear ownership, solid executive sponsorship, and an active transformation already underway. This role leads a global, multi-layer engineering organization accountable for:

Success in this role requires decisive executive leadership, enterprise influence, and solid delivery discipline. In return, you will have the opportunity to leave a lasting imprint on how care is delivered at scale.

You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Enterprise Technology Leadership - Serve as the single accountable executive across Senior Community Care and Care at Home; own end to end technology strategy, execution, and outcomes aligned to sustained growth
  • Workforce & Globalization Transformation - Drive workforce and operating model transformation toward a sustainable onshore/offshore delivery mix (target 40% onshore / 60% offshore), balancing cost efficiency with quality, regulatory compliance, and care delivery requirements
  • Governance, Accountability & Execution Discipline - Enforce standards and decision rights; lead cloud adoption with accountability for cost, performance, and reliability; provide transparent, executive level reporting on platform health, value, and transformation progress
  • Growth Strategy - Lead technology-enabled growth across Optum Care at Home, including UnitedHealthcare and external client expansion, ensuring platforms scale to support new markets and revenue streams
  • Regulatory Oversight - Ensure all platforms meet HIPAA, PHI, and healthcare regulatory requirements; own compliance accountability while enabling rapid innovation and clinical enablement
  • AI-Native Care Delivery - Embed AI across care delivery to drive measurable clinical, operational, and financial outcomes
  • Modernize and unify the technology ecosystem to enable scalable, efficient, and connected care delivery

You’ll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.

  • 5+ years of experience with cloud-native Cloud architectures and ecosystems (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
