Job summary

Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability is hiring a Chief Information Officer to serve as the technology executive for the school, guiding IT strategy and large-scale reform across the institution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Ten years of increasingly technical work experience with substantial managerial experience.
• Strong strategic thinking and leadership, with knowledge of emerging technologies.
• Experience with IT governance and service management methodologies (e.g., ITIL).

Responsibilities

• Oversee the overall information systems function for the school and develop a central strategic plan for computing and information technology.
• Provide strategic direction across multiple lines of business and set long-range plans and high-level decisions.
• Ensure technology infrastructure serves the institution and aligns with university priorities.
• Advise senior management on technology futures, risks, and opportunities.
• Propose and manage significant programmatic change and update IT policies as needed.
• Lead and mentor senior IT leadership and collaborate with university partners to deliver technology solutions.
