Job summary

Epic Games in Cary, NC seeks a Cinematic Director to shape Fortnite cinematic trailers and short-form content. You will work hands-on in Unreal Engine 5, crafting sequences in Sequencer, and collaborating with directors, artists, and marketing to iterate quickly while preserving creative intent.

You bring a strong foundation in character-driven storytelling, timing, and visual comedy, with experience directing short-form projects and a passion for pushing realtime cinematic quality in live games

Qualifications

• Portfolio demonstrating directing in short-form content and storytelling.
• Directing experience across animation, cinematic trailers, or digital shorts.
• Strong fundamentals in shot design, composition, and pacing.
• Hands-on XP with Unreal Engine and Sequencer; familiarity with Control Rig.

Responsibilities

• Define creative vision and visual language for Fortnite cinematic trailers.
• Develop and pitch original story ideas from concept to delivery.
• Build sequences in Sequencer and iterate with feedback from teams.
• Lead multiple projects while maintaining creative intent.
