Job summary

Luxoft is seeking a CICS System Programmer to install, maintain, and optimize IBM CICS environments on mainframes. The role focuses on high availability, performance tuning, and secure operation across transactional systems.

You will collaborate with IT teams, developers, and vendors to implement robust CICS solutions, perform problem determination, and drive upgrades with minimal downtime. Strong RACF/DB2 security and DR planning experience are required.

Qualifications

Experience with IBM CICS Transaction Server installation, customization, and administration.
Strong knowledge of SMP/E for software maintenance and product upgrades.
Experience in problem determination, performance tuning, and web-enabling CICS.
Solid understanding of mainframe security (RACF) and DB2 access controls.
Experience with Disaster Recovery planning and testing.
Familiarity with change management tools and incident tracking systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Remedy).
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain CICS Transaction Server and related sub-products.
Perform build and deletion of CICS regions as required; apply maintenance and fixes via SMP/E.
Conduct performance monitoring, tuning, and problem determination for timely resolutions.
Implement and maintain RACF and DB2 access controls within CICS environments.
Participate in DR planning, testing, and execution; provide 24x7 on-call support as needed.
Lead or participate in upgrades and change management with minimal downtime.
Collaborate with developers, DBAs, network, and storage teams; mentor junior staff.
