Job summary

Esri is seeking a Software Development Engineer II to design and implement CI/CD and platform automation across enterprise environments. You will build pipelines, optimize Docker runtimes, and advance Python packaging for the ArcGIS API, enabling scalable and secure software delivery.

You will work across cloud and on‑prem systems, implement automated security gates, and help drive everything‑as‑code release practices at scale.

Qualifications

2+ years in DevOps, CI/CD, or platform automation.
Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure Pipelines).
Experience with YAML pipelines and infrastructure definitions.
Exposure to Python and/or JavaScript scripting.
Familiarity with IaC tools like Ansible, Terraform, or AWS CDK.
Knowledge of Docker file optimization and container deployments.
Understanding of artifact/dependency management and secure build practices.
US citizenship with Top Secret clearance eligibility and related requirements.
Bachelor’s in CS/Math/GIS or STEM field.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain high-speed CI/CD pipelines for cloud-native workflows and on-premises builds.
Architect and optimize Docker environments for consistent build/test runners.
Lead Python packaging workflows and manage Conda environments for distribution.
Build and manage build infrastructure with automated provisioning for high availability.
Implement automated security gates, SBOMs, and vulnerability scanning.
Develop monitoring frameworks for build performance and perform load testing.
Transition legacy workflows to infrastructure-as-code, eliminating bottlenecks.
Oversee third-party dependencies and secure the software supply chain.
